Chiropractic Research

Long term back problems

"There is strong evidence that manipulation is more effective than a placebo treatment for chronic low back pain or than usual care by the general practitioner, bed rest, analgesics and massage" Spine, Van Tulder and Boot et al. (1997)

Pain management

"Patients suffering from back and/or neck complaints experience chiropractic care as an effective means of resolving or ameliorating pain and functional impairment, thus reinforcing previous results showing true benefits of chiropractic treatment for back and neck pain."  Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics, Verneuf et al. (1997)

High blood pressure

In a trial conducted at Rush University Hypertension Center in Chicago, patients who received an adjustment to the upper cervical vertebrae had an average decrease of 17 points in their systolic blood pressure and 10 points diastolic. These results are similar to what can be achieved by typical two-drug combination therapy for hypertension. The decrease in blood pressure lasted for atleast the eight weeks of followup in the study.    J Hum Hypertension, March 2, 2007, PMID 17252032

"Cervical spine manipulation was associated with significant improvement in headache outcomes in trials involving patients with neck pain and/or neck dysfunction and headache." Duke evidence report, McCrory, Penzlen, Hessel blad, Gray (2001)

Immune system

"In clinical trials, Chiropractic has shown great potential to boost immune function. A clinical study conducted at Life University with several chiropractors demonstrated CD4 levels increased on average 48% compared to the control group."  Dr.Tinsley Up and Coming weekly 9/02.

Dr. Pero stated in his research that "Chiropractic patients in his study had 200% greater immune competence than people who had not received chiropractic, and 400% greater immune competence than people with cancer or other serious disease." Dr.Tinsley Up and Coming weekly

Ear Infections in Children

"Results indicate a strong correlation between the chiropractic adjustment and the resolution of otitis media for children" Fallon JM. Journal of Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics, October 1997

"These findings suggest that chiropractic can play a role in reducing pain and increasing the functional capabilities of patients suffering from fibromyalgia."  Blunt KL, Rajwani MH, Guerriero RC. Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics , July/August 1997
